ADTB Instructors only use positive training methods

ADTB Instructors need to know the basics of behaviour

ADTB Instructors must pass all assessments before training any dog

ADTB Instructors must be enthusiastic and passionate about dogs

The Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour (ADTB)
was founded in April 2001 by its principal Jenni Watson.

The aim of the organization is to offer those who may wish to enter the field of Dog Training and / or Behaviour Counselling whether as a career change or hobby, an opportunity to undertake a series of theory courses online.

So many people begin dog training without the required knowledge or plan. The ideas provided by the ADTB Instructors have been coupled together to make setting up a dog training business less stressful.

Within the ADTB we believe that practical training experience is needed before people should undertake hands on training of dogs and the programme we offer will provide the participant with a wealth of knowledge in preparation before beginning to train dogs. The ADTB does not provide practical training courses.

The ADTB courses are designed to support the Kennel Club Accreditation Scheme and a reference letter from the ADTB (upon completion of all ADTB courses and after a successful assessment)will be accepted by the Kennel Club as part of an application for listed status when applying for the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme.
